U.S. Opportunity Explorer
The U.S. Opportunity Explorer is an interactive dashboard designed to help users examine how demographic, economic, housing, labor-market, business, and industry conditions vary across U.S. counties and states over time. The dashboard integrates publicly available data from major federal sources, including the U.S. Census Bureau, Bureau of Economic Analysis, Bureau of Labor Statistics, Business Dynamics Statistics, and County Business Patterns. Users can explore indicators by category, switch between county- and state-level views, search for specific locations, and examine historical trends from 2015 to 2024. The interactive map highlights geographic variation, while accompanying charts summarize national or selected-location trends and identify places with particularly high or low values. Together, these features provide a flexible way to compare locations, identify spatial and temporal patterns, and better understand how opportunity and socioeconomic conditions differ across the United States.
